Easter weekend is one of the most important and enjoyable times of the year here on Virgin Gorda. It’s a time of joy, music, food, entertainment, and community camaraderie. IT’S FESTIVAL TIME. It is a celebration of the culture of the Virgin Islands through local entertainment and activities.
It is an international event with guests from near and far. Not only do we welcome many guests from our Sister Islands of Tortola and Anegada but down islanders and international visitors are also present. A polyglot of cultures and much merriment.
The pandemic has curtailed our Festival for two years but 2022 is going to be a return to a festival schedule. Not quite as extensive as in the past but we are thankful to be moving forward with planned activities. Our highlights this year will be music and food. The Valley will resonate with multiple international and local bands, playing all day and into the night. Local food and drink will be available throughout the Valley.
Our annual car show will be a feature on Saturday and Sunday will bring an Easter Egg Hunt and our famous Hat Parade. All ages are welcome to participate and prizes are abundant.
At this time of writing no fairgrounds, parade, or tramp (J’ouvert) have been scheduled, but things have a tendency to change here on Virgin Gorda…..and who knows, there is still time to make some of that happen.
We at The Inn at Cornucopia are excited to welcome guests to our first Easter Weekend. We still have limited availability so think about joining us for the festivities. Get away from the hustle and bustle of real-life and enjoy the tranquility and simplicity refi of Cornucopia….but still, be part of the Easter activities. Remember a lovely gourmet breakfast starting with a passion fruit Bellini is a great way to start a festive day.
